Microfinance victims in Parliament House, formed a committee to investigate
Following their breach of the security perimeter and entry into the Federal Parliament Building premises, the police formed an inquiry committee.
KATHMANDU: An inquiry committee, led by SSP Dinesh Mainali, has been established to investigate the incident involving microfinance victims entering the premises of the Federal Parliament building.
On Monday afternoon, microfinance victims staged a protest in front of the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwar.
Following their breach of the security perimeter and entry into the Federal Parliament Building premises, the police formed an inquiry committee.
The Kathmandu Valley Police Office in Ranipokhari has formed a three-member inquiry committee, with Senior Superintendent of Police Mainali serving as the coordinator.
SP Navraj Adhikari from the District Police Complex Kathmandu and DSP Dinesh Ghimire from Ranipokhari are also part of the committee.
The Kathmandu District Administration Office has designated a restricted area around the parliament building in Baneshwar extending from Maitighar.
Despite security measures, the protesters managed to bypass security personnel and reach the Parliament building premises, where they raised slogans.
The police detained 49 individuals, including 48 women and one man, for violating the restricted area.
The committee’s task is to investigate how the protesters gained access to the Parliament building premises.
