Man killed in khukuri attack over livestock dispute

KATHMANDU: A 47-year-old man was killed in a khukuri attack in Chainpur Municipality-10, Ikhambu, following a dispute over grazing livestock.

According to Inspector Meghraj Aryal of the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, the victim, Lilaprasad Rai, was attacked on Saturday afternoon by his neighbor, 59-year-old Shivakumar Rai.

“The altercation escalated over cattle grazing, leading to the fatal attack,” Inspector Aryal said. Lilaprasad Rai was declared dead at the scene.

Shivakumar Rai has been taken into police custody, and further investigations are underway.
