KATHMANDU: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has carried out a series of institutional social responsibility (CSR) programs in line with its policy of contributing to financial literacy, education, health, disaster management, environmental conservation, cultural promotion, infrastructure development, sustainable development goals, and humanitarian support.

As part of its environmental commitment, the bank, in collaboration with the Lumbini World Peace Forum under the “Ten Million Tree Plantation and Conservation Campaign,” provided financial support for planting 2,000 lemon saplings in Ward No. 01, Kanda of Khaptad Chhededaha Rural Municipality on the occasion of Earth Day.

The initiative aims to expand greenery, strengthen local food security, promote sustainable resource use, and support livelihood opportunities through employment generation in remote and climate-vulnerable areas.

In the health sector, the bank supported an awareness program focused on early detection, prevention, and treatment of cancer. The funds raised from the program were handed over to the cancer ward of Kanti Children’s Hospital to support the treatment of young patients.

Similarly, marking Global Money Week 2026, the bank distributed educational materials to students of Shree Yudh Sanskrit Secondary School in Nepalgunj, Banke, with the objective of supporting learning activities and promoting financial awareness among students.

In another initiative to strengthen youth financial literacy and practical economic knowledge, the bank also extended financial support to the 7th Nepal Economic Olympiad.

The program is expected to contribute to knowledge-based social development and responsible financial behavior among young participants.
