KATHMANDU: Marking World Photography Day, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited has successfully concluded the third season of its flagship Bizzchitra Photography Contest, celebrating local businesses and entrepreneurship through the art of photography.

The competition collected photographs from Aug 27 to Oct 17, inviting photographers to submit images that reflect local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The initiative aimed to promote community-based businesses and highlight their positive impact on the local economy.

Numerous photographers from across the country participated, submitting diverse and creative photographs showcasing local trade, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship.

All submitted photographs were of high quality and conveyed strong, positive messages about locally operated businesses.

A three-member jury panel carefully evaluated the entries and shortlisted 15 outstanding photographs for final recognition.

At a special award distribution ceremony held in Kathmandu, prizes were awarded to the winners in the categories of First, Second, Third, and Public Choice Award.

  • First Prize: Suyog Kunwar – Rs 25,000 with certificate

  • Second Prize: Paras Bajracharya – Rs 20,000 with certificate

  • Third Prize: Dewananda Pokhrel – Rs 15,000 with certificate

  • Public Choice Award: Sharman Raj Bhandari – Rs 10,000 with certificate

In addition, the Bank presented certificates of appreciation to the top 15 photographers selected by the jury.

Compared to previous editions, the prize amounts were increased this year, reflecting the Bank’s continued commitment to encouraging creative talent and community-focused storytelling.

The Bank expressed confidence that such initiatives contribute significantly to the promotion of local businesses, entrepreneurship, and indigenous art and culture, while strengthening community engagement and positive social impact.

Alongside this initiative, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has been consistently providing modern, secure, and convenient digital banking services to its customers.
