Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank completes various social responsibility programs
The program involved modernizing, certifying, and strengthening traditional skills to promote income generation.
KATHMANDU: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has been implementing its policy of Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) by conducting programs across diverse sectors, including financial literacy, education, health, disaster management, environmental conservation, cultural promotion, infrastructure development and improvement, sustainable development goals, and humanitarian and philanthropic activities.
In line with this initiative, the bank partnered with the Lions Club of Kathmandu Gurans to provide financial support for a major health camp at Shree Gandhakuti Vihar, Khokana, Ward No. 21, Lalitpur.
The program focused on early detection of cancers such as breast, cervical, and colon cancer, as well as screening for diabetes, thyroid disorders, and conducting general health and dental check-ups.
Similarly, in collaboration with the Traffic Police Division, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, the bank contributed road furniture and traffic signages to address issues such as road accidents, traffic management, footpath maintenance, and haphazard parking in various areas.
Under the ISR initiative for Dalit empowerment, Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank partnered with Nepal Dalit Empowerment Center to enhance traditional vocational skills.

As part of this, sewing machines were distributed to residents across Wards 1 to 6 of Adanchuli Rural Municipality, Humla District.
Additionally, the bank’s Bhairahawa branch provided financial assistance for the construction of a playground at Shree Bhanu Secondary School, Bhanupath, Siddharthanagar-09, Rupandehi. The support covered works such as laying a base, rolling, and ensuring proper drainage for the field.
Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank believes that these diverse ISR initiatives will contribute significantly to overall economic and social development, reinforcing its commitment to community welfare and sustainable growth.
