KATHMANDU: Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav has announced that the provincial government will prioritize the agriculture sector, aiming to modernize farming and support local farmers.

Speaking at a felicitation program organized by the Nepal Hotel and Tourism Entrepreneurs’ Association, Madhesh Province, in Lalgadh today, CM Yadav emphasized the need for agricultural modernization to boost the province’s prosperity.

“To make Madhesh prosperous, modernizing agriculture is essential,” he said, adding that irrigation projects are being advanced with a target of completion within two years. Alongside irrigation, programs to help farmers adopt modern farming techniques will be expanded.

Acknowledging that Madhesh is fertile but farmers often lack the necessary resources to achieve expected yields, CM Yadav said the provincial government will now focus on mobilizing agricultural resources and providing support to farmers.

He also highlighted plans to improve education and healthcare in the province and mentioned special initiatives to develop tourism infrastructure along the Bardibas–Dhalkeber corridor, located in the central region of Madhesh.

During the event, the association presented CM Yadav with a certificate of honor. The program was chaired by Heralal Gautam, President of the Madhesh Province Committee of the association.
