KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and Chair of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has strongly criticized the current government, accusing it of failing to understand and respond to the suffering of the people.

Speaking at a party program held Friday at the central office in Aloknagar, Nepal said the government has not been able to lead the country in the right direction. “Looking at the current political situation, this government appears anti-people rather than pro-people,” he stated. “It has failed to grasp the public mood or honor the people’s aspirations. Its inability to adopt the right policies makes it a promoter of misgovernance.”

He further declared that the government is incapable of winning public trust and does not deserve support. “There’s no hope that this government can deliver on the expectations of the people. Therefore, we cannot stand by it. Its downfall is inevitable—only a matter of time.”

Chair Nepal also pointed to the deepening economic crisis, rising unemployment, and worsening living conditions of ordinary citizens. He accused the government of remaining distant from economic reforms, good governance, and people-centric decision-making.

Calling for political change, he urged party members to reach out to the public and present a strong political alternative that truly reflects the people’s needs and desires.
