KATHMANDU: Machhapuchhre Bank Ltd. has signed a formal remittance agreement with Cyprus-based Smart Pay to make sending money from abroad to Nepal easier, faster, and more reliable.

Under the partnership, Nepalis in Cyprus, Greece, Portugal, and across Europe can conveniently send remittances to Nepal through Smart Pay’s offices, mobile app, and online services.

The agreement was signed by Smart Pay Chief Operating Officer Stephanie Isabel Heraklios and Machhapuchhre Bank Deputy CEO Prasiddha Raj Aryal.

Following this collaboration, remittances sent via Smart Pay can be received at Machhapuchhre Bank’s 165 branches, its branchless banking services, 11 extension counters, and over 20,000 remittance agents across Nepal.

Additionally, the bank confirmed that funds sent through Smart Pay can also be instantly deposited into accounts of any bank in Nepal.

This partnership aims to provide Nepalis in Europe with a seamless, trustworthy, and efficient way to support families back home.
