KATHMANDU: Sunsari police have revealed that the murder of Dinesh Kumar Chaudhary, a city safari driver from Ramdhuni, was orchestrated by locals.
The investigation showed that two brothers, Rajkishor Sah and Nandakishor Sah, were behind the plot.
The Sah brothers allegedly hired assailants by paying Rs 600,000 to carry out the shooting.
According to police, Chaudhary was killed due to personal grievances—he reportedly practiced traditional healing rituals, which allegedly caused harm to the families of the perpetrators.
A total of seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder.
Besides Rajkishor (43) and Nandkishor Sah (40) from Jhumka, the arrested include 28-year-old Ankit Sah and Prinskumar Das from Rajbiraj, 34-year-old Mohammad Ibran Mia from Bhokraha, 37-year-old Giyas Mansuri from Devangunj, and 25-year-old Mithilesh Yadav from the same municipality.
The Sunsari District Court has extended the custody of the suspects as the investigation continues.
The incident occurred on the evening of Ashoj 25 in Ramdhuni Municipality-2, along the inner road connecting Shinnagar and Jhumka, where Chaudhary was shot and killed on the spot.
