7 held in Sunsari City Safari driver murder case

KATHMANDU: Sunsari police have arrested seven individuals in connection with the murder of a City Safari (auto-rickshaw) driver in Ramdhuni Municipality.
The victim, Dinesh Kumar Chaudhary, 45, was shot dead on Aswin 25 in Karmaniya Tole, Ramdhuni–2, while driving along an inner street.

A special investigation team was formed to probe the case. Using technical evidence and statements from the victim’s family and local residents, police concluded that the murder was premeditated.
Initial findings suggest that Chaudhary had allegedly caused prolonged distress to his family through manipulative practices, leading to a planned attack.
The suspects reportedly carried out the shooting collectively following financial arrangements.
The suspects, arrested from various locations in Sunsari and Saptari, confessed to their involvement during preliminary questioning.
Legal proceedings are underway under charges of culpable homicide.
The Sunsari District Court has extended police custody for 12 more days from Mangsir 17 for further investigation.
