KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Rajendra Lingden has said the party must establish itself as a decisive force in Parliament through the upcoming elections.

Addressing a programme on Thursday, Lingden stressed that the country is at a critical juncture and requires fresh thinking to address its persistent problems.

He said the RPP has been consistently raising its voice for new approaches and meaningful reforms.

Commenting on the ongoing debate between “new” and “old” political forces, Lingden argued that political actors should be evaluated based on their ideas and vision rather than age, party affiliation, appearance, or whether they are first-time candidates.

He also underscored the need for a new national consensus before the elections to ensure long-term peace and stability in the country.

Lingden’s remarks come as political parties intensify preparations for the forthcoming polls, positioning themselves to shape the country’s future political direction.
