KATHMANDU: Education and Sports Minister and government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel has described the rapid publication of the Class 12 examination results as a strong reflection of good governance and a significant leap in education sector reform.

Speaking while announcing Cabinet decisions on Friday, the minister said the results were released within 40 days of completing the examinations—much faster compared to previous years when it used to take more than three months.

He said the improved efficiency in administrative processes would have a positive impact on the overall academic calendar.

Delays in results had previously disrupted university admissions, class operations, and examinations, but the government’s streamlined approach is expected to bring long-term stability to the education system.

Pokharel added that universities, including Tribhuvan University, are now preparing to advance their admission and academic schedules accordingly.

“Reducing the result timeline is not just about speed; it is a strong example of good governance. It proves that with efficient management, results can be delivered within 40 days, ensuring timely admissions and the start of academic sessions,” he said.

Congratulating all students who appeared in the exam, the minister urged them to view the results as just one phase of life.

He encouraged those who were not satisfied with their performance not to lose confidence and to prepare for supplementary examinations, highlighting that Nepal’s universities offer ample opportunities for further study.

The government reiterated its commitment to improving institutional efficiency and ensuring that students’ valuable time is not wasted in the future.
