KATHMANDU: Parliamentarians from the House of Representatives are urging the government to promptly release the report of the Commission of Inquiry into the Balkumari incident.

During the Monday session, MPs from both the ruling party and the opposition expressed their frustration towards Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, citing the lack of prosecution against Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, who is implicated in the incident.

Chief opposition UML MP Amritlal Rajwanshi demanded the immediate release of the report on the Balkumari incident and called for strict action against the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, ruling Nepali Congress MP and former minister Arjun Narsingh KC urged the government to swiftly publish the report of the Ncell investigation committee, which addresses a significant corruption case. He also emphasized the need for immediate attention to the grievances of metered bank victims, microfinance victims, and dairy farmers.

Another coalition partner, CPN (Unified Socialist) member Ammar Bahadur Thapa, highlighted the urgency of providing timely payments to dairy farmers and criticized the government for halting payments for development projects.

MPs underscored the necessity for the government to take stringent action against cooperatives involved in embezzlement, as well as to address the demands of cooperative victims.

Congress MP Ambika Basnet cautioned the government to ensure justice for cooperative victims and criticized the delay in addressing the concerns of meter badge victims.

Basnet emphasized the importance of promptly disbursing payments to dairy farmers.
