KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Gorkhas will bat first in the Eliminator of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), when they face Lumbini Lions. Their captain, Karan KC, won the toss on Wednesday at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur — and chose to bat first.
The winner of this match will play Biratnagar Kings in Qualifier 2 on Thursday. The team that wins there will advance to face Sudurpaschim Royals for the title on Saturday.
Kathmandu have retained the same playing XI as their previous match, while Lumbini have made one change: Dinesh Adhikari replaces Sumit Mahajan. This is Dinesh’s second match of the tournament — he was in the squad earlier against Chitwan Rhinos, but did not bat or bowl.
After the league stage, Kathmandu finished third with 10 points, and Lumbini ended fourth with 8 points. In the league phase this season, Kathmandu defeated Lumbini by 22 runs. In the previous season too, Kathmandu had beaten them by 18 runs.
