KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Gorkhas registered their second victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) with a 22-run win over Lumbini Lions on Wednesday.

Sher Malla top-scored with 28 runs, while Dilip Nath added 25, but the team fell short as Kathmandu’s bowlers kept tight control.
Milind Kumar and Gerhard Erasmus took two wickets each for Kathmandu.
Earlier, after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu posted 157 for eight in the allotted 20 overs.
Captain Karan KC remained unbeaten on 34, supported by Aakash Tripathi with 32 and Santosh Yadav with 26 runs. For Lumbini, captain Rohit Paudel, along with Sher Malla, Gulbadin Naib and Ruben Trumpelmann, claimed two wickets each.
With this win, Kathmandu now have four points from four matches, keeping their playoff hopes alive with two wins and two losses.
Lumbini, who have won only one of their three games, face increasing pressure as their path to the playoffs becomes tougher.
Eight teams are participating in the tournament organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), which began on Mangsir 1.
