KATHMANDU: Karnali Yaks captain Sompal Kami won the toss and chose to field first against Pokhara Avengers in Tuesday’s Nepal Premier League (NPL) clash at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
Karnali made three changes to their playing XI, bringing in Jaykisan Kolsawala, Dipendra Rawat, and Unish Bikram Thakuri in place of William Bosisto, Deepak Dumre, and Yuvraj Khatri. Both Kolsawala and Rawat are making their season debuts.
Pokhara, on the other hand, reshuffled their squad, replacing Sumit Barma, Jimmy Neesham, Matt Taylor, Abhishek Tiwari, and Dinesh Kharel.
Neesham has left for the IL T20 tournament in Dubai.
The Avengers’ lineup includes England World Cup-winning opener Jason Roy, Sri Lanka’s Dhananjay Lakshan, India’s Rishi Dhawan, Aakash Chand, and Sandeep KC, all featuring in the NPL for the first time.
Currently, Pokhara has won only 1 of their 4 matches, needing victories in all remaining three to secure a playoff spot.
Karnali, with 1 win from 5 games, must win both their remaining matches to stay in playoff contention.
