KATHMANDU: Karnali Yaks decided to field first in Monday’s second match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

Karnali captain Sompal Kami won the toss and opted to bowl against Sudurpaschim Royals.

The Royals, who have won their first two matches, will be looking to continue their winning streak.

They defeated Kathmandu Gorkhas in their opening match and overcame Pokhara Avengers in their second. Karnali Yaks, on the other hand, lost their first match against Chitwan Rhinos but bounced back with a win over Lumbini Lions.

Both teams have retained the same squads from their previous games. Royals, led by captain Dipendra Singh Airee, field a strong lineup including Binod Bhandari, Josh Brown, Chris Lynn, Ishan Pandey, Aarif Sheikh, Harmit Singh, Scott Kuggeleijn, Naren Saud, Avinash Bohara, and Hemanta Dhami.

Karnali’s lineup features Sompal Kami, Mark Watt, Priyank Panchal, William Bosisto, Pawan Sharraf, Najibullah Zadran, Gulshan Jha, Arjun Ghartimagar, Nandan Yadav, Bipin Sharma, and Yubaraj Khatri.

Last season, the Royals defeated Karnali by six wickets in the league’s final game to secure their place in the qualifiers, setting the stage for another exciting encounter between the two sides.
