KATHMANDU: Janakpur Bolts posted a modest total of 132 for six in their 20 overs against Lumbini Lions in Friday’s Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025 clash at Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

The defending champions face pressure to win this match to keep their tournament hopes alive.

After winning the toss, Janakpur opted to bat first but failed to build a big score as expected.

Sangeeth Cooray was the top scorer for Janakpur with 45 runs. Openers Maaz Sadaqat and Aasif Sheikh contributed just six and 20 runs, respectively, while Anil Sah and Shubh Kansakar managed seven and 11 runs.

Sanjay Krishnamurti added 14 runs, and Mayan Yadav contributed a useful 27.

Among Lumbini’s bowlers, Sher Mall picked up two wickets for 20 runs, while captain Rohit Paudel also claimed two wickets, conceding just 15 runs.

Lumbini now needs 133 runs to chase Janakpur’s target and stay in contention for the playoffs.
