KATHMANDU: Shram Sanskriti Party chair Harka Sampang has said that his party will continue its protest in Parliament until the government led by Balen Shah becomes fully responsible and accountable to the legislature.

Speaking to journalists at the Parliament building on Wednesday, Sampang stressed that since the Prime Minister also holds the Home Ministry, he must personally respond to questions raised in Parliament, especially regarding issues such as the recent clearance of squatter settlements.

He accused the government of avoiding accountability and insisted that parliamentary questions must be addressed properly inside the House.

“We will continue our protest for the full five years. If we are suspended simply for criticising the government and demanding accountability, we are ready for that too,” Sampang said.

He added that even if disciplinary action is taken against them for raising criticism, his party remains prepared to continue its stance.
