KATHMANDU: Harka Sampang, chair of the Shram Sanskriti Party, has once again criticized the government, accusing it of failing to remain accountable to Parliament.

Speaking in today’s House of Representatives meeting, Sampang urged the Speaker to issue a strict ruling requiring the Prime Minister and ministers to be mandatorily present in the House.

He said lawmakers have repeatedly raised concerns on behalf of the public rather than personal matters, but ministers continue to avoid Parliament. “We have raised many issues, from border matters to inflation control and refund of cooperative victims’ money. We want to question the concerned ministers,” he said.

Sampang also mentioned that they intended to raise issues related to the management of landless squatters.

He further added that ministers neither attend policy discussions nor parliamentary debates, arguing that parliamentary rules are not being properly enforced.

He insisted that the government must be fully accountable to Parliament and the people, demanding a strict ruling from the Speaker.
