KATHMANDU: Gyandendra Shahi, spokesperson and chief coordinator of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has called for the resignation of Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba.

Shahi criticized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for failing to take effective action in securing the release of Nepali citizen Bipan Joshi, who was taken hostage by Hamas in Israel.

In a statement shared on social media, Shahi accused the minister and ministry staff of lacking diplomatic expertise.

He stated, “A foreign minister who cannot protect the lives of citizens or assist those in distress has no justification to remain in office.”

Shahi also expressed concern over the government’s perceived inaction regarding the current condition of Joshi’s mother and sister, holding the state accountable for neglecting the suffering of the victim’s family. “Employees without commitment or diplomatic knowledge have no reason to occupy their positions,” he added.
