Gurung confident Oli will win Jhapa-5, warns against RSP claims
Gurung criticized Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Balendra Shah for allegedly attempting to mislead voters with false promises.
KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Vice Chair Prithvi Subba Gurung has expressed confidence that party Chair KP Sharma Oli will win the upcoming election in Jhapa constituency no. 5.
Speaking at a program organized by Press Chautari Nepal in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Gurung criticized Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Balendra Shah for allegedly attempting to mislead voters with false promises.
He claimed that Sah had previously used heavy machinery against residents of the scatters settlements in Kathmandu, raising doubts about his ability to win Jhapa-5.
Gurung urged residents of Jhapa-5 not to fall for Sah’s assurances of land ownership certificates, calling them misleading and unreliable.
He also accused the RSP of fielding Sah as a candidate with the intent of weakening UML’s election campaign through deceptive propaganda.
The vice president further stated that UML is poised to emerge as the leading party in the upcoming elections.
He emphasized that voters prefer experienced and reformed traditional parties over entirely new faces in politics.
