KATHMANDU: The government has confirmed that 72 people have lost their lives during the Gen Z movement.

In a briefing held on Sunday at Singha Durbar, Chief Secretary Ekanarayan Aryal released the latest figures related to the protests.

While Prime Minister Sushila Karki was assuming office, Aryal stated that among the casualties, 59 were protesters, 10 were detainees, and 3 were security personnel.

He further reported that 191 people are currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the movement, including 134 protesters and 57 police officers.
