KATHMANDU: The government has tabled the Economic Survey 2082/83 in the National Assembly.

Presenting the report in Wednesday’s parliamentary session, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle highlighted key economic projections for both the global and domestic economy.

He stated that the global economy is expected to grow at 3.1 percent in 2026, reflecting continued headwinds in the international economic environment.

Despite external pressures, Nepal’s economy is projected to grow by 3.85 percent in the current fiscal year, according to the survey.

Minister Wagle also noted that economic growth will vary across provinces, with all provinces except Bagmati and Gandaki expected to record growth below the national average.

The survey further projects that the country’s total economy will reach Rs 66 trillion in the current fiscal year, while per capita income is expected to rise to USD 1,535.
