KATHMANDU: Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki has assured that elections will be held on the scheduled date.

She emphasized that the government is fully committed to conducting the polls, and even if unforeseen circumstances cause delays, elections will be completed in a second phase.

Addressing potential challenges in hilly districts due to cold weather, PM Karki said the government is prepared to transport voters using available means to ensure their participation.

She added that once the elections are concluded, the newly elected representatives will assume office, and power will be handed over to the new government.

The upcoming elections are estimated to cost around Rs 3.2 billion.

PM Karki stressed that the government remains serious and vigilant in ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
