Government to launch “Prime Minister’s Self-Reliant Daughter Program”

KATHMANDU: The government is set to launch the “Prime Minister’s Self-Reliant Daughter Program” as part of its upcoming fiscal year’s policies.
This initiative aims to empower women economically and make them more self-sufficient.
President Ram Chandra Paudel announced this during a joint session of the Federal Parliament, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing women’s economic strength and capabilities.
President Paudel highlighted that the program would address several social issues, including child abuse, violence against women, human trafficking, rape, caste discrimination, substance abuse, dowry, chhaupadi, and tilak. The government’s policy also aims to eradicate harmful practices such as witchcraft accusations and the dowry system.
The President reiterated the government’s dedication to combating severe crimes against women, such as rape, through ongoing social awareness campaigns.
He stressed the importance of continuing efforts to eliminate social evils and exploitation, promoting a safer and more equitable society for all.
