Gold, silver prices hit record highs in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Gold and silver prices in Nepal continued their sharp upward trend on Wednesday, reaching historic highs.

According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, the price of gold rose by Rs 1,500 per tola, with the new rate for standard gold reaching Rs 278,000 per tola.

Previously, on Tuesday, gold was trading at Rs 276,500 per tola.

Silver also saw a significant surge, increasing by Rs 315 per tola to reach Rs 5,655.

The price on Tuesday had been Rs 5,340 per tola.

Experts say this one-day jump in silver marks the highest increase in recent times.
