Gold jumps Rs 20,500 in a day, hits record Rs 339,300/tola

KATHMANDU: The price of gold and silver in the Nepalese market skyrocketed unexpectedly on Thursday, setting new records.

According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Traders’ Association, the price of plain gold jumped by Rs 20,500 in a single day, reaching Rs 339,300 per tola.

This marks the highest level ever recorded in Nepal’s gold market.

On Wednesday, gold was trading at Rs 318,800 per tola, making Thursday’s sharp rise a significant market shock.

Silver also saw a substantial increase, rising from Rs 7,300 per tola on Wednesday to Rs 7,505 per tola on Thursday, according to the association.
