Further action on NHRC report after formal receipt: Govt spokesperson

KATHMANDU: Education Minister and government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel has said the government will move ahead with further procedures only after it officially receives the report from the National Human Rights Commission.

Speaking to reporters after a Cabinet meeting, Pokharel stated that the government would review and act on the report through the appropriate process once it is formally submitted.

The commission has reportedly recommended further investigation and possible action against several individuals, including former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and lawmakers from ruling parties, in connection with incidents that occurred on Bhadra 23 and 24.
