Former Speaker Ghimire, ex-Deputy Speakr Magar file candidacies in Jhapa-2

KATHMANDU: Former Speaker Devraj Ghimire has officially filed his candidacy for the upcoming House of Representatives election from Jhapa constituency No. 2.

According to Election Officer Mahesh Khatri, Ghimire registered his nomination on behalf of the CPN (UML) at the Election Office in Arjundhara Municipality–2.

Ekraj Karki has been listed as his proposer, while Chintan Pathak is serving as his supporter.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar has also submitted her candidacy from the same constituency

She registered her nomination representing the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) at the same election office, Khatri confirmed.

With prominent national figures entering the race, Jhapa-2 is shaping up to be one of the most closely watched constituencies in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
