KATHMANDU: Dharmanath Prasad Yadav, the esteemed former State Chief of Lumbini State, peacefully passed away at the age of 80 in his residence in Sukhipur Municipality 6, Siraha, on Tuesday night.

A towering figure in the political landscape, Yadav had served as a dedicated leader and assumed the helm of Lumbini State on Nov 4, 2019, as a representative of the CPN-UML.

Transitioning from a distinguished teaching career to immerse himself in UML politics in 2048 BS, Yadav left an indelible mark on the region’s political sphere.

Despite enduring various health challenges over an extended period, Yadav had recently triumphed over paralysis.

In his twilight years, he resided in Golbazar Municipality 6 of Siraha, sharing his final moments with his son and daughter-in-law.

Yadav’s cremation ceremony is scheduled to take place today, according to family sources.
