KATHMANDU: Eberechi Eze delivered a sensational hat-trick as Arsenal thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 4–1 in the North London Derby on Sunday, strengthening their lead at the top of the Premier League.

Summer signing Eze, who joined Arsenal from Crystal Palace in August, struck once at the end of the first half and again early in the second to put Mikel Arteta’s side firmly in control.

Earlier, Leandro Trossard had opened the scoring in the 36th minute, finishing calmly from Mikel Merino’s precise pass.

Tottenham briefly revived hope when Richarlison fired in a spectacular 40-yard strike in the 55th minute.

But Eze sealed his first Premier League hat-trick in the 76th minute, restoring Arsenal’s dominance and silencing the home crowd.

The victory puts Arsenal on 29 points after 12 matches, six points clear at the top.

Chelsea trail them by six points, while Manchester City sit seven behind. Tottenham, meanwhile, drop to ninth in the table.
