KATHMANDU: A blistering half-century from Will Jacks propelled England to a competitive total of 203 against Italy in their Group C encounter of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Monday.

Jacks remained unbeaten on 53 off just 22 deliveries, guiding England from a shaky 105/5. He forged a crucial 54-run partnership with Sam Curran for the sixth wicket, followed by a valuable 35-run stand with Jamie Overton for the seventh, steering the side to a formidable score.

For Italy, Crishan Kalugamage was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2/41, including the wicket of Curran, who made 25. Overton’s aggressive cameo was ended by Grant Stewart, who finished with figures of 2/51.
