KATHMANDU: England registered a dominant 51-run victory over Sri Lanka in the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, England posted a competitive 146 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. Phil Salt top-scored with an impressive 62, while Will Jacks added 21 and captain Harry Brook contributed 14.
The rest of the batting lineup failed to make significant contributions.

Chasing a modest target of 147, Sri Lanka collapsed for just 95 runs. Captain Dasun Shanaka was the only batter to show resistance, scoring 30 runs, as the rest of the lineup struggled to cope with England’s bowling attack.
England’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Will Jacks taking three wickets.
Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson, and Adil Rashid claimed two wickets apiece, while Jamie Overton chipped in with one wicket to seal a comprehensive win for England.
