Education Minister: No rush in Grade 12 result publication, defends process
He said the results were released on time by streamlining administrative procedures and adding necessary manpower where required.
KATHMANDU: Sasmit Pokharel, who also serves as the government spokesperson, has clarified that there was no haste in publishing the Grade 12 examination results amid growing controversy over the process.
In a social media post on Thursday, he stated that the National Examination Board’s (NEB) result publication process has been transparent and consistent with established procedures.
He said the results were released on time by streamlining administrative procedures and adding necessary manpower where required.
“The results were published at the appropriate time without any rush. Instead, unnecessary administrative processes were minimized and additional human resources were mobilized to ensure timely publication,” he wrote.
Responding to recent debates and protests related to the results, Minister Pokharel expressed respect for peaceful demonstrations, stating that democratic societies must uphold the right to voice concerns.
He also raised concern over negative and disrespectful comments directed at students on social media, urging restraint from all sides.
“I have noticed some negative and disrespectful remarks toward students in recent news and social media reactions. I request everyone not to engage in abuse, insult, or disrespect toward any individual or group participating in peaceful protest,” he added.
The statement comes amid ongoing public discussion regarding the Grade 12 results process and calls for further clarity from education authorities.
