Dhawal Rana launches new pro-monarchy party with Prasai leadership
Rana said the proposed party will promote a “monarchy-inclusive democracy” and work to establish Nepal as a Hindu nation.
KATHMANDU: Former Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Dr. Dhawal Shumsher Rana has announced the formation of a new nationalist political party aimed at reinstating the monarchy and declaring Nepal a Hindu state.
Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Sunday, Rana said the proposed party will promote a “monarchy-inclusive democracy” and work to establish Nepal as a Hindu nation.
He stated that the new political force will be led by Durga Prasai, whom he described as a prominent “brand” and people’s leader representing pro-monarchy and Hindu state agendas.
“We need to revive the agenda of monarchy and Hindu state and bring all nationalists and royalists together,” Rana said, adding that Prasai would serve as the face of the movement while the party would handle organizational leadership.
Rana further claimed that a strong nationalist force is being prepared to fill a political gap in the country, expressing confidence that it would gain public strength within the next few months.
He also criticized RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden, alleging that he has not sincerely advanced the agendas of monarchy and Hindu state, which he cited as a key reason for forming the new party.
