KATHMANDU: A Grade 12 student of DAV College in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, died after falling from the college building on Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Aryan Singh, a resident of Chabahil, Ward No. 7 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, according to police.

Police said Singh jumped from the college building at around 12:30 PM.

He sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to Sumeru City Hospital for treatment.

However, doctors pronounced him dead during treatment.

Spokesperson for the District Police Range Lalitpur, Superintendent of Police Gautam Mishra, confirmed that preliminary investigation suggests Singh may have left behind a written note before the incident.

The note, written in Romanized Hindi, has been recovered and is currently under analysis.

“We are studying the note he left behind,” SP Mishra said. “Initial assessment indicates possible signs related to mental health concerns in the writing.”

Police have launched further investigation into the incident.
