KATHMANDU: A World Cup Festival has begun in Syria’s capital, Damascus, bringing excitement, unity and a sense of relief to citizens as the country continues its recovery from years of conflict.
Organized to coincide with the FIFA World Cup 2026, the festival has transformed the historic Damascus Exhibition Grounds into a large public fan zone, where football enthusiasts can watch live matches on giant digital screens.
Beyond the football action, the event features food stalls, sports-themed activities and entertainment programs designed for visitors of all ages, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of the capital.
