Corruption case filed against Acting Chief & four others

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against five individuals, including the then Acting Chief Administrative Officer of Bajhang, Bitthadchir Rural Municipality, Ramesh Bahadur Bista.
The case was registered on Wednesday at a Special Court.
The allegations concern embezzlement of government funds by officials associated with the management committee of Sunkuda Secondary School.
Alongside Bista, those named in the case include Ramesh Bahadur Adhikari, chairman of the school’s management committee; principal Dhan Bahadur Bista; accountant Harka Bahadur Bista; and the municipality’s sub-engineer, Kiran Bhandari.
The CIAA has claimed damages of Rs 26.54 lakh from Adhikari, Dhan Bahadur, and Hark Bahadur, and Rs 20 lakh from Ramesh Bahadur Bista and sub-engineer Bhandari.
