KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader and National Assembly member Krishna Prasad Sitaula has stated that the party’s General Convention is likely to be held by Mangsir 2083.
Speaking at a press conference in Kathmandu on Sunday, Sitaula said the party’s current leadership term is set to expire this Mangsir, in line with the four-year provision, and an extension of up to one year is possible as per the party’s statute.
He emphasized that traditionally, the Nepali Congress has conducted its General Convention every five years.
However, he pointed out that the active membership process is yet to be finalized, which could hinder the timely organization of the convention.
Sitaula warned that extending the convention beyond Mangsir 2083 would not be appropriate and called for timely preparations.
