Chopper carrying patient makes emergency landing in Salyan
After the helicopter landed in Salyan, preparations were made to transport the patient by ambulance.
KATHMANDU: A helicopter carrying a heart attack patient from Jumla to Nepalgunj was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Salyan district on Friday afternoon due to adverse weather conditions.
The Mustang Air helicopter (call sign 9N-ANO), which had flown from Jumla via Surkhet, landed at Ghuyabari in Kalimati Rural Municipality–7 at around 1:45 pm, local officials said.
Ward chairperson Mitralal Rijal said the aircraft could not land in Nepalgunj because of poor weather, prompting the pilot to divert and land in Ghuyabari for safety reasons.
The patient was originally scheduled to be taken to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj for further treatment.
After the helicopter landed in Salyan, preparations were made to transport the patient by ambulance, quoting the pilot, Rijal added.
Local authorities coordinated the response following the landing.
The condition of the patient has not been disclosed.
