Both teams currently have 4 points each.
KATHMANDU: The first match of Friday’s Bagmati Derby in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) will see Kathmandu Gorkhas take on Chitwan Rhinos at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
Chitwan captain Kushal Malla, after winning the toss, has opted to field first.
Chitwan have brought back Rijan Dhakal, replacing Amar Singh Rautela, while Kathmandu, who defeated Lumbini Lions in their previous match, have made no changes to their lineup.
Both teams currently have 4 points each, with Chitwan having played 3 matches and Kathmandu 4, sitting in third and fourth place respectively.
A win in this game will significantly boost the winning team’s chances of reaching the playoffs.
Last season, in their opening encounter, Chitwan defeated Kathmandu by 5 wickets.
While Chitwan went on to the playoffs with 8 points, Kathmandu was eliminated in the league stage.
