Chitwan Rhinos to bat first against Janakpur Bolts
Team captain Kushal Malla opted to set a target against Janakpur.
KATHMANDU: Chitwan Rhinos will bat first against defending champions Janakpur Bolts in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) after winning the toss at the Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, on Tuesday.
Team captain Kushal Malla opted to set a target against Janakpur.
Following a 53-run defeat to Kathmandu Gorkhas in their previous match, Chitwan made two changes to their playing XI.
Amar Singh Routela and Saugat Dhakal have been included in place of Rijan Dhakal and Deepak Bohara. Saugat Dhakal is a talent hunt recruit for Chitwan.
For Janakpur, Anil Sah will feature in the playing XI but will not take on captaincy duties.
Wayne Parnell will lead the team, while Anil Sah and Sachin Bhatt replace Lalit Rajbanshi and Kishor Mahato.
This season, Lalit has taken only 2 wickets in 4 matches, and Kishor has managed just 1.
Chitwan has won 2 out of 4 matches so far. With two remaining games, including a final clash against Sudurpaschim Royals on Thursday, the Rhinos’ chances of reaching the playoffs remain strong.
Defending champions Janakpur, on the other hand, have lost all four of their matches this season.
Last year, although Janakpur won the title, Chitwan had beaten them by 34 runs in the group stage.
