Chelsea advanced to quarterfinals by defeating Lille

KATHMANDU: MARCH. 17 – English club Chelsea has made it to the quarterfinals of the European Champions League. Chelsea defeated Lille 2-1 on Wednesday night to advance to the quarterfinals with a 4-1 overall score.

Chelsea, which had been in a groove since the first leg, kept it up in the second leg as well. But Lille took the lead in the 38th minute through a penalty by Burak Yılmaz. However, Chelsea re-entered the game in the first half.

After a 1-1 first-half tie, captain César Azpilicueta gave the team the lead in the second half. Chelsea won the first leg by a score of 2-0. The quarterfinal draw will now take place on Friday.
