House to table five bills, key economic agenda in today’s sitting
KATHMANDU: House of Representatives is set to see a packed legislative agenda in today’s session, with five key bills scheduled for presentation alongside the Auditor General’s annual report and discussions on the Appropriation Bill, 2083.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the meeting scheduled for 1:00 PM will include the presentation of the 39th Annual Report of the Auditor General for 2083, which will be tabled by Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sobita Gautam on behalf of Prime Minister Balen Shah.
Following this, Minister Gautam will seek permission to introduce the Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Bill, 2083 before the House.
Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle will present a proposal to introduce the Third Amendment Bill on Prevention of Money Laundering (Asset Laundering), 2083.
Similarly, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Raval will table the Cooperatives (First Amendment) Bill, 2083.
Health and Food Safety Minister Nisha Mehta is also scheduled to introduce a bill to amend certain Nepal Acts related to health science academies, seeking parliamentary approval to proceed with its formal presentation.
The session will further deliberate on the Appropriation Bill, 2083, including consideration of amendments and clause-by-clause discussion.
Finance Minister Wagle will also move a proposal to pass the bill after incorporation of amendments.
Additionally, the House will begin clause-wise discussion on the National Debt Raising Bill, 2083, followed by consideration of proposed amendments and its passage.
