Case registered against Durga Prasai

KATHMANDU: Medical businessman and political activist Durga Prasai has been formally charged at the Parsa District Court on allegations of cybercrime and offences against the state.

According to Parsa Police, the case has been filed under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063, along with charges related to crimes against the state.

Prasai’s statement could not be completed on Monday, prompting the court to send him into judicial custody and schedule further proceedings for Tuesday.

He was arrested on May 18 from Diyalo Hotel in Birgunj. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as legal procedures continue.
