One dead, one injured as two buses collide in Dhading

KATHMANDU:A deadly collision between two buses occurred on Sunday morning in Thakre Rural Municipality-6, Dashakilla, along the Prithvi Highway, leaving one person dead and another injured.

 The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Sujan Tamang from Syaule-9, Dhunibeshi Municipality.

According to police, the accident took place around 7:30 a.m. when two buses—bearing registration numbers PR 3-01-006 Kh 1552 and Ba. Pra 01-006 Kh 5206—traveling from Dang to Kathmandu collided.

One of the buses lost control immediately after the crash and crashed into a roadside tea stall operated by Khageshwar Sharma.

At the time of the accident, Tamang was drinking tea at the stall after parking his tipper nearby.

Both Tamang and Sharma sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Kathmandu for treatment.

Tamang succumbed to his injuries at the Trauma Center at 10 a.m., confirmed DSP Prakash Dahal of Dhading District Police Office.

Sharma is currently receiving treatment at B&B Hospital in Lalitpur.

Police have reported that passengers on both buses are safe.

Both buses and their drivers have been taken into custody, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
