KATHMANDU: The new House of Representatives chamber inside the under-construction Parliament building at Singha Durbar is in its final stage of completion, with authorities preparing to host the upcoming budget presentation from the upgraded facility on May 29.

According to the construction team, major installation works including sound systems, security cameras, seating arrangements, and lighting are currently underway.

The project, which has faced repeated delays and multiple deadline extensions, has now been fast-tracked with a focus on completing remaining works ahead of the budget session.

At present, parliamentary meetings are being held in a temporary hall due to the incompletion of the main chamber.

Once finished, the new assembly hall is expected to become the regular venue for all House of Representatives proceedings, marking a significant shift in the country’s legislative operations within the Singha Durbar complex.
