Bopara sores historic hat-trick of fifties in NPL 2025

KATHMANDU: Chitwan Rhinos’ star batsman Ravi Bopara has made history in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025 by scoring fifties in three consecutive matches.

Bopara achieved his third fifty against Biratnagar Kings, hitting 50 runs off just 29 balls, including three sixes and two fours.

He eventually added 65 runs from 38 balls before getting out, with four sixes and three fours.

Earlier, he had scored fifties against Karnali Yaks and Lumbini Lions, making him the first player in the current NPL season to hit a hat-trick of fifties.

Meanwhile, Pokhara Avengers’ Kushal Bhurtel has scored two fifties this season.

Other players joining the fifty club include Josh Brown and Harmit Singh of Sudurpashchim Royals, Lokesh Bam and Martin Guptill of Biratnagar Kings, Priyank Panchal of Karnali Yaks, and Aashif Sheikh of Janakpur Bolts.

Karnali Yaks’ Mark Watt remains the only player to have scored a century in the tournament so far.
