KATHMANDU: Bhaktapur’s ‘Rani Jhula’, a 250-meter-long suspension bridge connecting wards 6 and 7 of Changunarayan Municipality, is fast becoming a hotspot for nature lovers and weekend explorers.

Visitors flock daily to experience the sweeping views of lush forests, seasonal foliage changes, and the gentle caress of cool mountain air.

The bridge offers a serene escape, particularly popular among young tourists during holidays.

With rising footfall, the local Nagarkot Aindanda Community Forest Users Group has introduced a nominal entry and parking fee—Rs 20 for locals, Rs 50 for foreigners, and Rs 10 for students.

The move has stimulated local economic activity, boosting homestays, small businesses, and roadside vendors.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 167 million, the bridge was inaugurated on 21 Chaitra 2078 (April 4, 2022).

Nestled amid tranquil forests, ‘Rani Jhula’ is quickly emerging as a defining landmark of Bhaktapur, blending natural beauty with local community enterprise.
